Digital orthophotography of New Jersey, distributed as an ArcGIS REST cached tile service [https://maps.nj.gov/arcgis/rest/services/Basemap/Orthos_Natural_2020_NJ/MapServer/] and as a Tiled Web Map Service (WMTS) [https://maps.nj.gov/arcgis/rest/services/Basemap/Orthos_Natural_2020_NJ_WM/MapServer/WMTS/tile/1.0.0/Basemap_Orthos_Natural_2020_NJ_WM]. These services display the three natural color bands from the 4-band project. The native data set spatial reference system is EPSG::6527 NAD83 (2011) NJ State Plane coordinates, US Survey feet (Transverse Mercator projection). The cache processing has produced continuous tiles in EPSG::3857 WGS84 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere) coordinates, meters. Multi-spectral digital orthophotography was produced with a 1 foot pixel resolution for the entire state, totaling 8,251 square miles.Digital orthophotography combines the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. Each digitized perspective aerial photograph is rectified for camera lens distortion, vertical displacement caused by terrain relief, and variations in aircraft altitude and orientation.

This is the preferred general-use live public access method for 2020 statewide orthophotography published by NJOIT - OGIS.
