Service Description: The basemap provides pre-rendered symbology that incorporates basic map features to provide a background on which other data layers can be overlain. Muted grayscale symbology is used to more readily distinguish overlain features. The basemap features render in greater detail at larger scales. The service is published in WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere. Note to service users who incorporate service layer(s) into an application or published live map: The NJ Office of GIS, as basemap publisher and steward, provides early notification of changes that may affect use of the cached basemap service. To do this, we need contact name and email address for the service user, and name of the application or published live map consuming the service. Please send this information to the NJ Office of GIS at njgin@oit.nj.gov.
